Nail Tips for a flawless manicure!

This week we are giving you some tips for a flawless manicure.

1. Before applying a base coat, file the edges of your nails

File your nails so that you don’t have any edges around the corners. This will prevent your nails from splitting and getting caught in fabric.

2. Clean your nails

Make sure your nails are clean, you can use nail polish remover, rubbing alcohol or acetone on a cotton pad and wipe the nail plate clean. This helps to remove any unnecessary oil from your nails.

3. Use a base coat to help it last longer

It may take you longer to do your nails but this will help your polish stay on longer and make the colour super pigmented. Make sure your base coat is completely dry before moving on.

4. Add a matte top coat

Apply over any of your favourite nail polish and watch it transform into a matte finish before your eyes.  It lasts long and gives you a completely different look.

5. Use a toothpick to add details like dots or stripes

You don’t need a fancy nail art tools, just Look for a short toothpick-like tool that has one sharp end and one blunt end or you can use a toothpick. Just cut off one end with a pair of scissors so that the end becomes blunt.

 6. Use a lip brush to tidy the edges

We’ve all colored outside of the lines, but when you do it with nail polish, you want to be precise in your clean-up technique. Dipping an old lip brush into nail polish remover and wiping it around your nail bed to clean up the edges.

7. Use cuticle oil regularly

An instant way to look like you’ve just stepped out of the salon is to use cuticle oil. Apply it over your entire nail after you’ve painted your nails — if you accidentally hit them against something, the oil offers some slip, so they’re less likely to nick.

 8. Always use a top coat.

And when you apply it, always swipe the very tip of your nail. That way, when you’re typing and hitting your tips against the keys constantly, you’ll be less likely to get chips.
