Review: Avon Mega effects creamy eyeshadow

Avon Mega Effects Creamy Eyeshadows are new cream eyeshadows by Avon. I was so excited when I first saw the promo for these eyeshadows.

Metallic eyeshadow is a really big trend at the moment and we are jumping right into it. ( )

Here’s what we thought.

We tried out these 3 shades:

Liquid gold

Crimson Tide

Glistening Steel

Whether you are going for the metallic or just a nice shimmer on your eyes, these are worth a shot. As far as pigmentation goes those are really buildable. You can apply a very light wash of shimmering color or you can seriously pack it on to a full on metallic look.

I prefer to pack these on, especially on the center of the lid. You need to be careful not to apply too much, too soon because it can actually take the first layers off. My advice is to let it set a little before you start adding more and more.

Because of the thick formula, you’ll need a really dense brush to pick these up. Any brush you normally use for liquid/cream makeup. In my opinion fingers work best, but I used a brush because it’s easier to blend. I applied the second layer with my finger for a fuller opacity. They blend with ease and don’t set too quickly so you still have some play time.

These eyeshadows are really long lasting. I wore them for the whole day and they didn’t move at all. Sometimes with other cream eyeshadows you can get a bit of creasing which is especially due to the slightly creamier formula, but not with these. I was seriously impressed. Even at the end of the day it still looked as metallic and shimmery as in the morning.

I would definitely recommend trying these if your eyeshadows usually crease or you have to do a touchup throughout the day.
